Dilapidated building, Castle Douglas
This building at the back of the former Merrick Hotel on St Andrew Street is in desperate need of some TLC. The paint is peeling, most of the glazing in the windows is missing, and the wood in the boarded up one is rotting. The Merrick Hotel (now an Indian restaurant and take-away), is a Category C listed building. The positions of raised letters spelling out the name can still be seen. The lady crossing the road is looking up at the building, wondering, 'Why's that man photographing that building?'
