Spango Burn
Looking towards the farm of Spango. According to Peter Drummond's 'Scottish Hill Names', this unusual name derives from the Scots word spangie, meaning to spring or catapult into the air (possibly a reference to the way that the other side of Spango Hill rises steeply).
