Tynron Church
This is the west wall of the church that was built in 1837. It was used as a parish church until 1997 when it was sold. According to a local website, the Community Council have asked the Scottish Redundant Churches Trust to consider taking ownership of the building.

A symbolic gravestone at Tynron Churchyard
This old stone at the southwest corner of the church has sunk into the ground. The hammer, horseshoe and pincers indicate that this is the gravestone of a blacksmith.

A Covenanter stone at Tynron Churchyard
This table stone near the southwest corner of the church is dedicated to William Smith who was shot at Moniaive Moss on the 29th March 1685. Some of the inscription is hidden by foliage but the readable part is as follows:- I WILLIAM SMITH NOW HERE DO LY ONCE MARTYRED FOR CHRIST’S VERITY DOUGLAS OF STENDUSE LAURIE OF MAXWELTON CAUSED CORNET BAILIE GIVE ME MARTYRDOM WHAT CRUELTY THEY TO MY CORPS TEN USD LIVING MAY JUDGE ME BURIAL THEY REFUSD William Smith was executed at the stone in this photo Image
