Penpont Cairn
Standing prominently on a small hill outside his home village of Penpont, this deceptively simple yet powerful large sandstone egg standing in the middle of a cattle pasture was designed by local sculptor Andy Goldsworthy to mark the start of the new millennium.

Millennium Cairn
Situated a short distance east of Stepends Farm near Penpont with houses at Burnhead in the background. According to a worker on the farm, this was erected to celebrate the new millennium. Taken late in the afternoon on a fine March day. A site visitor adds:- This sculpture is the work of the famous artist Andy Goldsworthy who lives in nearby Penpont.
