Paul Jones Hotel
This hotel is named after the young man who was born on the nearby Arbigland estate and went on to become the "Father of the United States Navy".

Paul Jones Hotel
The hotel is named after John Paul Jones (1747-1792), famous as the 'father of the United States Navy'. He was born John Paul a couple of miles away on the estate of Arbigland, and added the Jones later in life.

Southerness
Southerness is a small, compact coastal village located approximately 2 miles south of the A710 between Caulkerbush and Kirkbean. The town today is mainly a tourist village dominated by the Southerness Holiday Village with its large number of static caravans.
