Starlings everywhere
The sky overhead at the B7076 near Gretna is filled with starlings that congregate at sunset in the winter months before roosting in nearby conifer plantations. The event is spectacular to watch but there is a good chance of returning to a guano-covered car.

Old milestone
This is a photograph taken in 2010 of the milestone on the B7076 just south of the exit from Gretna Services on the A74(M). It has now been pushed over and the plate stolen. The original tollroad between Carlisle and Glasgow was upgraded by Thomas Telford 1814-1825. This route has seen many more changes since.
