The Queen's Head, Springfield - July 2016
Dating from the mid-18th Century, this pub was taken under State managemnt in 1916 due to concerns the drinking habits of local munitions workers could result in Gretna being transformed into a very large hole in the ground. The Government did not relinquish control until 1971.
