Registration Office, Gretna Green
Located in Central Avenue, the office was opened in 1991 and was then extended in 1997. The building was designed by Peter Nelson and his team from Architectural Services, Dumfries. His inspiration came from oriental concepts and the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The office handles more than 3,500 weddings each year, with the marriage trade generating business worth some £21m to local businesses.
