Site of Hendersons' potato store
Large quantities of local potatoes were formerly exported by boat from Kingholm Quay. With the decline of the coastal trade and the rise of road transport the need for riverside warehouses passed and this long-derelict building has now been demolished. Houses in Kingholm Loaning form the background. For another view and links to earlier photos see Image

Kingholm Quay: Derelict houses
As a shipping centre, Kingholm Quay is finished and there are many signs of dereliction. This row of houses, no longer required by humanity, is welcomed by a large number of pigeons. Interestingly, the nearer half of this block is stone-built and the further half built of brick.
