Dornock: sheep and England view
Beyond these sheep, who seem happy enough on a sunny evening unaware that they are tomorrow's dinner for someone, we look across the Solway estuary with the great hills of the Lake District in the background.

Dornock and Eastriggs from the air
Dornock is nearer the camera, the Solway Firth is on the right. Eastriggs was created during WWI by the Ministry of Munitions who created a new cordite factory on what was until then a greenfield site. Officially known as H.M. Factory Gretna https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HM_Factory,_Gretna , it spread over a 12 mile site stretching east from Dornock through Gretna to Longtown, Cumbria.
