A74(M) bridge over the Evan Water
The Evan Water is a tributary of the Annan Water. Three long distance paths use this bridge on their approach to Moffat: the Annandale Way, Southern Upland Way and the Romans & Reivers Route. The A701 bridge is a short distance to the east.

Footpath below the A701 near Beattock
A path under the A701 bridge over the Evan Water, used by the Annandale Way, Southern Upland Way and Romans & Reivers Route approaching Moffat from the west. Just beyond here is a larger bridge for the A74(M). There is some satisfaction in sneaking across these busy transport corridors on a safe footpath.
