Back Gardens
The post Christmas snow of the previous few days had completely disappeared by midday on New Year's Day as this picture from an upstairs window shows. It's a mild day with broken cloud and is almost spring-like. Compare with
Image from just a few days ago when we were gripped in the depths of winter.

Green Lane
This is either Green Lane or Park Road, though I think it is the former as Park Road seems to take a left hand turn a little way back. The whole area is an old residential part of Ilkeston.

This picture was taken from Park Avenue, whereas the road running to the right and left of the cemetery is Park Crescent. This is the main entrance to Park Cemetery. The first burial took place here in the 1892 although the cemetery's Grade II-listed twin-chapel complex with its tower was not built until 1910.

Although the cemetery opened in 1891, the chapel and gates were not built until 1910. Originally the central gates would have been cast iron to match those in the pedestrian gateways http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5485564 . Listed Grade II for group value.
