Shipley Working Men's Club
The building may be an unprepossessing 1960s box, but the club itself appears to be thriving with regular live entertainment. Although now known simply as the Shipley Working Men's Club, the old sign tells us that it was the Shipley Colliery Working Men's Club. Mining actually ceased at Shipley Colliery by 1930. On the left side of the sign is the Kimberley Ales yellow hop logo. Kimberley Ales were brewed by Hardys and Hansons at nearby Kimberley until the brewery closed in 2006.

The Marlpool Ale House
Don't even ask for lager! And with seven real ales (some of which are brewed on the premises) all at £2-50 per pint, who would want to?

The Marlpool Ale House
Located next door to the Queen's Head on Breach Road this former shop has opened as a micro-pub specialising in real ale. Everything is on a small scale - the bar is a former chapel pulpit - but the pub still manages to brew its own beer in an outhouse at the back.

Bricks at the Marlpool Ale House
A collection of heritage bricks has been used to build a wall in the garden of the Marlpool Ale House. Some of them were made locally including the Waingroves example in the centre of the picture.
