St Luke's Church - 1
An unusual modern church, which was completed and consecrated in 1938 at a cost £8,000, mainly paid for by J.J.A. Wooley. It was built of Stanford grey bricks, with a 60-foot tower and a clock made by Smiths of Derby. The tower houses one bell which weighs two hundredweight and was cast by Taylors of Loughborough in 1902, originally for Thurmaston Hall near Leicester. The builders of the church were Sisson and Sons of nearby Langley Mill, with Bernard Widdows as the architect.

St. Luke's Church, Loscoe
Loscoe was originally part of the parish of Heanor but a separate parish of Codnor and Loscoe was formed in 1844 with a new church at Cross Hill. In 1927 Loscoe became a separate parish, but it was not until 1938 that this new church was erected.
