Footpath leaving Kirk Hallam
Dale Abbey Footpath 35 is an old field path, some of which is now under Kirk Hallam. What remains crosses the fields to Ladywood Road at Lady Wood.

Pipe across the fields

Hunloke's Arm of the Nutbrook Canal
The strip of bog, next to the hedge, is all that's left of the western end of a short side-cut of the Nutbrook Canal. It was named after Sir Henry Hunloke, who commissioned it to carry coal from nearby pits. A public footpath follows the line of the old towpath.
