Railway trackbed, Chellaston (2)
Looking towards Melbourne from Sinfin Moor Lane along the trackbed of the former Midland Railway line between Derby and Melbourne. At this point, the trackbed goes through a relatively recent housing development, forming a quiet green space between the houses.

Sinfin Moor Lane Bridge
The bridge carrying Sinfin Moor Lane over the former Midland Railway route linking Derby with Ashby. The bridge has since been filled in, with extensive housing development beyond.

Four miles to Derby
Mile marker on the Cloud Trail in the Derby suburb of Chellaston. This is the former route of the Derby canal which opened in 1796 and was abandoned in 1964. The Derby and Sandiacre Canal Trust are working to reopen it. The Cloud Trail and NCN route 6 follow the former towpath, which is also a public footpath.
