The Rose & Crown
The Rose & Crown has been here for at least 200 years. In the early 19th century, it was in the hands of one "Mary Soar", who continued as publican until she was at least 85 years old, as recorded in the 1861 census. The building has been extensively remodelled since those days, making its history hard to read. These days, it's a popular Marston's house.
