Bridleway to Lucas Lane
Through traffic on Lucas Lane was cut when the A50 was built in the 1990s. This short length of bridleway allows access for foot and horse traffic.

A50 at the A516 junction
This junction marks the start of the Foston-Hatton-Hilton bypass section of the A50, opened in 1995, a mere 25 years after the first proposals for a high-quality (motorway) route between the Potteries and Derby.

A50 - A516 bridge
All the junctions on the Foston-Hatton-Hilton bypass and its close contemporary around Doveridge are built in "dumbbell" style, a "poor man's roundabout junction" which requires only one bridge. A peaceful seat
The seat looks out onto a grassy meadow and a piece of art work in the form of a giant dragonfly. The tree stump arms of the seat are carved with otters, grebes and fish. It is a relatively new addition to the Hilton Nature Reserve

Hilton Gravel Pit entrance
