Hilton Business Park
Many lorries are parked up on the edge of the business park. This is quite a new development or is being recently expanded as there was quite a lot of building going on.

Old warehouses
These old warehouses on the edge of Hilton Business Park obviously predate what is now a fairly modern development. There is a sign saying these warehouses all have a fragile roof - it looked like asbestos.

Egginton Junction Signal Box
Egginton Junction seen from the Tutbury side of the box. Hilton Crossing can be seen in the distance. Egginton is a North Staffordshire Railway type 1 box dating from 1878 and contains a 47 lever McKenzie and Holland lever frame with just levers 1 - 14 retained on the operating floor. It currently works AB to Tutbury Crossing and TCB since June 1969 as a fringe box to Derby PSB. Under the original plans Tutbury should have been the fringe box but following the closure of the Melton - Nottingham route and diversion of trains via Trent there was doubt as to whether the route from Egginton through Friargate to Bagthorpe could also be dispensed with thus diverting even more trains via Trent. In the event Egginton was retained as fringe box although the route beyond Friargate was closed.
