Thorpe View Ashbourne
At least some of these fairly new houses are built on the former site of the lower school of Ashbourne Grammar School. The developer who built these houses also contracted to build a new school so that all of the Grammar School could be housed on a single site. This is to be found on the opposite side of the valley.
Thrope View refers to some of the houses being able to see the village of Thorpe close to Dove Dale.
