Royal Shrovetide leaving a field behind Park Avenue
The lad next to me said there were two 'hugs' then everyone started running after the ball carrier broke away. When I had gathered breath the crowds were already across the brooks and two fields away.

Royal Shrovetide in a field behind Park Avenue
A breakaway from the 'hug' crossed the river and a small brook then were bogged down in this field behind the council houses on Park Avenue for 20 minutes. Those followers not brave enough to leap across the brook and climb the barbed wire fences were left behind.
