Junction with Sunny Bank
  This is not the original route of the road, Sunny Bank. The name was applied to this cul-de-sac when the area was redeveloped and the housing estate was built. The original route was some 60m to the right of the viewpoint and connected the B6014 at the south-western end of High Street with the old Tibshelf Bottom Colliery. Behind the viewpoint is a Image runs parallel with Shetland Road and along the edge of the Tibshelf Recreation Ground.

Sunny Bank
  This road leads to Image and then, just beyond, a car park for access to The Five Pits Trail and Image To the right of the viewpoint is Tibshelf Recreation Ground and a children's play area. A few metres behind the viewpoint is a junction with Shetland Road, where a sign names this road as 'SUNNYBANK' whereas the OS map includes a space and ascribes the name 'SUNNY BANK' to the road.

Former Scout Troop building
A very faded notice indicates the building was once used by the Tibshelf Baden Powell Scout Group. Originally the Tibshelf and Newton Miners' Welfare, built by the Babbington Colliery Company in 1865. The building closed as a Welfare in 1985 and was used as the Scout HQ from 1987 to 1990. (thanks to Ivan Brentnall of Tibshelf Local History and Civic Society for this information)
