Although no longer in use, this retains a period character, complete with painted advertisement for 'Bradford's Pure Sweets and Herbal Drops', about which I can find no information.

997 London Road
The immediate purpose of this building is not apparent, but it turns out to be a more than usually imposing example of a turnpike toll house, dating from the mid 19th century, now a private dwelling. The rear of the building is a modern extension. Listed Grade II.
