Alvaston Methodist Church, Brighton Road, Alvaston
Don't really know much about this church only that it's always been there. The only striking feature is that it's in the middle of a row of terraced houses; the houses were probably there first, which begs the question, "What was there before the church?"

An old wall
Behind the Parkfields Surgery on the edge of its car park is this old wall. At the far end the wall seems to be older and may be part of the original wall to the house named Parkfields, on whose grounds the surgery is built. This used to be the home of W W Winter who ran the photographic company of the same name from the 1860's until 1910 when he emigrated to Canada. The company is still in existence and may be the oldest continuously operating photographic company in the country as it originally began trading in 1852 as E N Charles.
