Bus on Osmaston Road
Passing the location of the terminus for the tram services which finished in 1934. The replacement trolleybus service was extended to Shelton Lock, and this bus represents the current successor extending even further to Chellaston, Swarkestone or Melbourne.

Carriage Works, Derby
I discovered this strange looking 'tram' by accident. It, the overhead electric locomotive and the length of track, is in fact a traverser. A traverser is a single piece of track which is moved from side-to-side between parallel sheds or tracks. A carriage, in this case, could be drawn out of the shed onto the traverser, moved a few feet and then drawn back into a parallel part of the same shed. This alleviated having a lot more trackwork and points, covering a lot more space. A traverser can also be called a transfer table. I'm sure of the grid reference, but not the works title. A comment has been added to this, which reads, "The traverser pictured was made on site in the millwrights shop, a fantastic place to work as a young lad."

Osmaston Road tram depot
Much rebuilt, and reduced in size in recent years, this was the main depot for the electric trams and was built in 1904. It later housed an overhaul facility for the trolleybus fleet until the opening of the new garage on Ascot Drive.

Footpath leading to the site of the Long Bridge
The Long Bridge was a narrow timber footbridge that used to cross the railway lines south of the railway works. It became unsafe and was demolished in the 1990s. This Long Bridge is not to be confused with the Long Bridge that took the Derby Canal towing path over the Derwent in the city centre.

Speed Camera on Osmaston Road
The shot was taken primarily to locate the bench mark http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3645070 which can just be made out in the stone block at the base of the wall to the left of the junction box. The shot is also an interesting study of a patchwork of brickwork of various ages. The bench mark location was almost certainly originally a gatepost of an entry into the former Midland Railway works.
