An ornamental pond
This is one of two such ponds at the edge of the estate. They appear to be for "looking at only" as they are surrounded by quite substantial metal fences. Hopefully when spring advances the pond will have a green surround rather than the dead leaves in this view.

Showroom and Housing Development in Mackworth
According to a local I had spoken to in Mackworth village the previous week, this development has kicked up a bit of a stink. It's on green belt land for starters and upwards of 500 houses are planned.

The houses are of various sizes but one thing they all seem to have in common is postage stamp sized tiny gardens. These are often surrounded by high brick walls which must make them feel very enclosed.

The recently built houses on this estate are still being added to. They are outside the city boundary but will no doubt expect to use the schools etc. inside the boundary.
