Getting near the road
Just between the buildings is the busy A52 Ashbourne Road. The building to the right is the Farmhouse Mackworth Hotel and to the left, but out of shot, is the Mundy Arms public house.

Towards the houses on Ashbourne Road
These houses have a good outlook at the moment BUT where we are walking has been given planning permission to build 600 homes and a school so the view up hill is going to change radically in the future.

The public house is named after one of the former leading families of the area that may or may not still own much of the surrounding land on which their estate was based.

The Farmhouse Mackworth Hotel
Looking across the A52 from the end of the footpath to the Mackworth Hotel. It is a good venue for weddings and until he built his own premises is where Charles Hanson used to hold his antique auctions.
