Lidgate Walk
A jitty lead us to Lidgate Walk on the edge of the Mackworth Estate. This whole area used to be a council house estate but since Margaret Thatcher many of the houses are now privately owned.

Richardson Way
The houses are of various sizes but one thing they all seem to have in common is postage stamp sized tiny gardens. These are often surrounded by high brick walls which must make them feel very enclosed.

On the footpath to Mackworth
Still looking back the way we had walked - the aim being to stop lens flare from looking straight into the sun. The footpath is very well tended and has a very good surface.

An ornamental pond
This is one of two such ponds at the edge of the estate. They appear to be for "looking at only" as they are surrounded by quite substantial metal fences. Hopefully when spring advances the pond will have a green surround rather than the dead leaves in this view.
