Yet more flats
All of these blocks of flats have been built relatively recently. Behind them is a large central courtyard where a limited number of cars can be parked, but I do not think there is enough space for one car for every flat, though I may be mistaken.

The new Lidl takes shape
The store is being built on the land formerly occupied by the Trent Barton Bus garage. Once planning permission was given the ground has been quickly prepared and the steel frame work has been put up rapidly.

The large building on the centre right with its end in shadow is an old factory that was converted into flats a few years ago. The Factory was James Smith and Co. who manufactured clothing.

Hydraulic pump house, Great Northern Road, Derby
This housed the hydraulic pumps and accumulator which drove hoists and capstans in the warehouse and goods yard in the background and was built at the same time - 1877-8. Listed Grade II, but sadly derelict and becoming ruinous.

Former engine house, Great Northern Road, Derby
From the listing: "built for the Great Northern Railway at their Friargate Station. 1877-8 by Kirk & Randall of Sleaford ... to provide power for the hydraulic cranes and hoists in the adjoining warehouse Image'>Image" Grade II listed.
Empty and seemingly neglected, all its windows broken.
