Da Vinci College (Henry Cavendish School)
Da Vinci College, which was previously Henry Cavendish School, and one of Derby's top Grammar Schools, just had a multi million re-fit and the entrance moved to face Oakwood, in an attempt to produce better examination results!

An exhortation to walk
In the suburbs of Derby, not far from a school/community college is a notice. Parents are encouraged to leave the car and walk the kids to school. Fat chance!
Anyway 10 minutes is simply not enough. Two hours already and another two to go, and I'm only 66.

Open space off Bishops Drive
This large open space is off Bishops Drive. You can just see a caravan which is one of many Gypsy / Romany / Traveller caravans who have all parked on this space and have been there for some time.

Suburban wild flower meadow
This north east corner of the city of Derby has a lot of green spaces; this area of grassland by Bishop's Drive brings a breath of the countryside into the suburbs.
