Old Milepost by the A511, Tutbury Road
Cast iron post by the A511 (was A50), in parish of BURTON UPON TRENT (EAST STAFFORDSHIRE District), Tutbury Road, junction with Beam Hill Road at Outwoods Cross, on cut grass below steep bank, on West side of road. Thornewill iron casting, erected by the Ashby de la Zouch to Tutbury turnpike trust in the 19th century. (Missing on Streetview after Aug 2011)

Outwoods Cross, Beam Hill postbox ref DE13 1084
Standard EIIR lampbox on post. The notice on the side states that the box is currently in a temporary location during the remodelling of the road junction at Outwoods Cross. Despite being in Staffordshire, Burton is in postal matters attached to Derby.

Bus entering turning circle, Beam Hill
Arriva Midlands 2008, a Dennis Dart/East Lancs EL2000 that began life with Midland Red North, arrives at the terminus of route 13 from Anglesey Road via Burton town centre. At this time, local services around Burton and Swadlincote were mainly operated with step entrance Darts, several of which were from this batch that had originally been based in Shrewsbury and Cannock. This turning circle was situated between two sides of a crossroads; since this picture was taken, the junction has become a roundabout, so the turning circle is now merely a large layby. On the right is the car park for the Beacon Hotel pub.
