This is Gerard Street on the other side of Mercian Way. Much of the housing is relatively new as the old terraced housing has been pulled down and new houses built.

I do not know whether something has been pulled down to make space for these new houses or if there was some derelict land but the space is now being used profitably.

Ye Olde Spa Inne
This used to the called the Old Spa Inn and has undergone a slight name change to make it sound more quaint. It has been an inn since 1832, though the building dates back to 1733.

Melbourne House
Taken on film around 2000.
Melbourne House is no longer there, having been demolished and other property rebuilt of the site.
In the 1960's it was a second hand book and comic shop where I used to find early DC Comics.
