The edge of Woodville
Woodville is one of several villages in this area named after raw materials, Iron and Coal are other similarly named villages. The whole area is a former mining area but the mines are long gone.

Bus on High Street, Woodville
Arriva Midlands 3084, a Dennis Falcon/East Lancs EL2000 new to Midland Red North, pauses in Woodville on its way from Burton to Ashby on route 9. This batch of Falcons, among the last to be built, often worked into Wolverhampton from Bridgnorth and Wellington in my youth, so it was a pleasant surprise to find one roaring around this area. I had travelled on this bus from Burton, and somehow managed to dash across the road and take this photo before it moved or an overtaking car got in the way.

The Clock Garage in Woodville
A well-known local landmark situated next to an old bottle kiln at the junction of five roads. This listed art-deco building was recently featured in the local press after a chunk of rendering was removed for safety reasons. Repairs are scheduled for later this year (2015).

The Clock Garage
The Clock Garage sits by a busy traffic island in the village of Woodville. This image was taken on a very dull day through the car window as I was waiting for traffic to move on.
