Stracathro Hospital
Stracathro was one of the single-storey emergency wartime hospitals built in the countryside during the second world war, the idea being that the probability of being bombed was less than in a built-up area, and the low-rise plan would minimise the impact of any bombing. Most have since been closed but Stracathro continues to operate. This is one of the original wartime wards.
