Brechin Castle
The castle as it stands today was built around 1700 to a design by Alexander Edward, and completed in 1711. A careful look at the ground floor windows to the right of the main door reveals that they are fake windows. This is the solid wall of the basement of the original castle, which was incorporated into Edward's new mansion.
