A new carpark?
Works like this are visible all around the loch. This could be due to a change of attitude by Scottish Water who previously surrounded the loch with discouraging notices.

Melgam Water enters the Loch of Lintrathen
The OS maps shows much of this area in blue, but with water levels low in the loch there is much sand and mud exposed which has become green with vegetation.

Loch of Lintrathen Nature Reserve
Loch of Lintrathen is located north of Alyth in western Angus. It is a mid-altitude oligotrophic-mesotrophic loch occupying a glacial basin. It is used as a water supply reservoir. In winter, the site is a roost for internationally important numbers of the Icelandic population of Greylag Goose Anser anser. The geese feed away from the SPA on surrounding agricultural land during the day. http://www.jncc.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=1966
