Garth from across the Loch
Later in the year the reeds almost obscure the view across the loch. Catlaw is visible in the background.

Cottages by Forfar Loch
These cottages are on the north side of the loch beside the track leading to Garth, and they are seen here across the reed beds on the south side.

Reed Beds at Forfar Loch
There are extensive beds of reeds which in the days of horse drawn traffic were cut up and used as fodder. Their cultivation is now being encouraged as a means of reducing pollution.

Prunus
Once again I am unsure exactly which species of prunus these are. They have clearly been planted here on the loch shore, because they are all about the same size and therefore age, and a similar distance apart. Perhaps an autumn visit, when there is fruit, might clarify the species.

Garth Farm, Forfar
The view of this farm was taken from the west end of Forfar Loch at its outlet, which is the source of the Dean Water

Garth Farm
The farm is set back from the north side of the loch, but its location is less tranquil than it looks in this view from the south side of the loch because the A90 dual carriageway passes just a couple of hundred metres to the left of the farm.
