This open space in the heart of the town has escaped the developers, though the east end of it has been turned into a town centre car park. The prominent building is St Margaret's Kirk.

The Forfar Botanists
The botanists commemorated by the Forfar Botanists Garden are name on the carved stones in this wall: George Don senior and two of his sons, George Don junior and David Don, and James Drummond and his son Thomas Drummond, all of whom made significant contributions to the study of botany.
