Our Lady's, Star of the Sea was built in 1939 and was designed by architect, Reginald Fairlie. The church was dedicated on Sunday, September 24, 1939, by Bishop Toner.

War Memorial Garden
At junction of Craig Road and Douglas Street, Newport; opposite the Parish Church on Queen Street. Raised to commemorate those who died in The Great War (1914-1919); plaques added to cover WW2 (1939-1945), and another for a Tayport man who was killed in the more recent conflict in Afghanistan.
