Barometer Cottage
In my youth, there was a rather fine barometer in the casing outside the front door which I believe had been purchased after severe storms had hit several of the East Coast Fishing Fleets. According to http://broughtyferry.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/walks/heritage.htm it was a Negretto and Zambia barometer and it was stolen some years ago.

Barometer Cottage
The name of the cottage is above the door, and the tall structure on this side of the door once contained a barograph for the use of fisherman and no doubt also the crews at the lifeboat station across the road. The date at the top of the barometer housing is 1859. See also Image] and Image The building seems to have been refurbished quite recently.

Barometer Cottage, Broughty Ferry
This fisher cottage dates back to the years when fishing was an important function in Broughty Ferry. The barometer case is sadly empty now, the barometer having been the target of vandals.
