Industrial wind turbines
The Michelin tyre plant on the Baldowie Industrial Estate, Dundee, uses these two turbines to supply a large proportion of its electricity requirements.

Synchronised turbines
Seen from the south bank of the Firth of Tay near Tayport, the two wind turbines at the Michelin tyre factory dominate the scene. These large windmills, located not far from the heart of Dundee, represented quite a challenge for Michelin's good neighbour policy. They were designed and constructed using the best technology available and are slow turning, elegant and whisper quiet. These two windmills provide roughly 30% of the electricity consumed in the plant which makes about seven-million tyres per year.
