Former Provost's Mansion and old town wall
Taken from outside Dundee Contemporary Arts, the photograph shows two pieces of Dundee History.
In the centre ground are remains of part of the western defences of the old Burgh of Dundee. See Image
Behind the wall is the former Clydesdale Bank. The building was designed by the Burgh Architect, Samuel Bell, for Provost Riddoch and built in 1793.
The site now occupied by Dundee Contemporary Arts and St Andrew’s Cathedral was formerly occupied by the town’s hospital.
