Rowan Norway at Dundee
One of two huge jack-up drilling rigs at its berth at Dundee’s Prince Charles Wharf. The platforms regularly come to Dundee for scheduled repairs but are currently moored long-term due to a downturn in the offshore drilling industry. Rowan Norway has been at Dundee since June 2016 when its last contract was completed. With a height of approximately 170 metres, the massive rigs, which house up to 120 offshore workers when in service, make an impressive sight as you approach Dundee via the Tay. Dundee is a good location for taking jack-up rigs as it is an easily-accessible deep water port and is close to where the rigs have recently been operational.
