A-listed terrace, Nethergate, Dundee
This slightly scruffy terrace from ca. 1790 is A-listed (see: http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/sc-25451-136-148-even-nos-nethergate-including-rem ) as the first imitation of an "Edinburgh new town" terrace in Dundee, which was built to provide town houses for country "gentry." These days, most of the houses in the terrace are probably student flats for the University of Dundee just down the road, but the black-painted, rusticated, doorway to the left of the lamppost is an entrance to a spiritualist church.
