GlaxoSmithKline have a large facility at Montrose on the north shore of the River South Esk where it meets the sea. The site is secured behind a metal fence which makes it difficult to photograph.

Glaxo from Ferryden
This pharmaceutical plant, owned by GlaxoSmithKline, was threatened with closure in 2006 after a plan to sell it to Akzo Nobel fell through. However it was saved when its parent company decided to retain the factory and invest further.
