This recreation ground is situated between Ash Road and Redhill Road at the southern end of New Ash Green. The previous day had seen thick fog. The following day it snowed. This day the bright sunshine was welcome, although it was so very cold that the frost in the shade had still not melted by the afternoon.

The Row, New Ash Green
New Ash Green Shopping Centre. In the middle is part of the original centre, designed by Eric Lyons and completed in 1969. To either side are the supermarket (now the Co-operative) and shops designed by Barton Willmore and Partners and built by Bovis in 1983.
