River Darent, Dartford
There was formerly a lock here which allowed the Darent to be navigable. The security fencing currently appears to be serving no purpose.

This is Arjo Wiggins' carbonless paper manufacturing mill in Priory Road North.
Comparing this photograph to Martin's Image, which I am guessing was taken from around the back of this same structure, the chimney with the black tip in his photograph appears to have been demolished.

Disused lock and weir on River Darenth
As seen from Darenth Valley Footpath (long distance path) heading into Dartford. Visible are the remains of Dartford Lock which was the main engineering feature of the Dartford and Crayford Navigation. The lock and weir are still the official tidal limit, although the removal of the lock gates means that the stretch above is now also tidal.
