Dartford, DA1 - Former Station Approach
In this view of former Station Approach "The Railway Hotel" can be seen standing empty and perhaps awaiting demolition whilst straight ahead are signs of the new railway station development. A temporary ticket office is situated in a prefabricated building beyond the roundabout and access to the platforms is gained behind the buses. The three or four storey building in the background houses the Council Offices.

Dartford station, 1990
View eastwards, towards Gravesend etc.: ex-SE&CR North Kent Lines, London Charing Cross/Cannon Street, via Greenwich, Bexleyheath or Sidcup, to Gravesend, Strood etc. Since 1990 this very busy, nodal station has been totally rebuilt.

The Railway Hotel
To the east of Dartford Station over the car park and taxi rank is The Railway Hotel. Facing the rail link between London and Gillingham it is ideally placed with access to Bluewater via Greenhithe Station or by Fastrack to the south behind the hotel.

Roundabout in Dartford
A roundabout near Dartford town centre. The viaduct to the left carries a railway line, while in the background to the right is a gas holder.
The wet road surface is a clue that there had just been a heavy rain shower when this image was taken.
