Situated on the B2175 London Road DA11 9JG, this bus garage was opened on Wednesday 7th July 1937 and was one of twenty eight garages in the Home Counties that had green buses operated by London Transport, then by London Country Bus Services from January 1970. Now, it is only one of four such garages remaining in operation today, the others being at Guildford (SU9949 refers), Harlow (TL4410 refers) and Garston, Watford (TL1100 refers). Approximately seventy five buses are based here running services in Gravesend and the surrounding area. This photo was taken on Saturday 8th July 2017 when an Open Day was held here to mark eighty years of bus operation at this garage.
