View NW, on West Coast Main Line towards Weaver Junction (for Liverpool), Warrington, Preston, Carlisle etc. The locomotive is Stanier 8F 2-8-0 No. 48260. The line has recently been electrified, Crewe - Liverpool (Lime Street), and electric trains are about to begin (1/1/62).
